Let ‘Em Go Under: The Big Three
I have had just about enough of the whining, bitching, moaning and just general griping from the Big Three automakers. Look, they can’t make it on their own. Let them go under! I don’t think we should bail them out at all.
I am a big labor guy. I may not be very liberal, but there are some thing I am very liberal about. Labor is one of them. But the UAW has to face up to the fact that they have pretty much destroyed their industry with their contracts and benefits. Come on now. When a worker gets laid off he gets just about the same money for unemployment as when he was working. So the layoffs don’t do much good. There’s more, but the autoworkers union has caused a ton of harm.
The management of these companies is terrible also. And they do stupid things. Like flyig to Washington to beg for money on your corporate jet!!
All in all these companies need to compete. They need to pare themselves down so they can make a profit and stay in business or keep going as they are now and wind up bankrupt. If the government bails out these poorly run operations it’s not going to set well with many Americans and this one here will be the most aggravated of them all. I say, let ‘em sink. More later!!
